Vecinos Unidos®
A través de un modelo de organización comunitaria, inventado por Fred Ross Sr., los organizadores de DHF movilizan a los residentes rurales de bajos ingresos para el cambio social. Los organizadores en cada región organizarán foros comunitarios mensuales, conocidos como Juntas Generales, donde la gente recibe capacitación en liderazgo, recursos, información legislativa y debate sobre las necesidades de la comunidad. A través de sus esfuerzos colectivos y las herramientas proporcionadas por un organizador, se construye un capítulo de Vecinos Unidos® (United Neighbors). Actualmente hay 13 Capítulos activos de Vecinos Unidos® en Antelope Valley, Arvin, Bakersfield, California City, Caruthers, Greenfield, Mojave, Lamont, Lindsay, Parlier, Sanger, Tulare y Woodlake. Los miembros de Vecino Unidos® se involucran activamente con sus funcionarios electos en las juntas de distrito escolar y de gobierno local para abogar por políticas y reformas progresistas. El poder de su gente les ayuda a defender las victorias de sus propias comunidades.
