It’s time for the 6th Annual “Scary for Charity” Halloween Bash at the Haunted Bell Tower Mansion on Friday, October 30th. We want to help make this a SPOOK-tacular and successful event, because “Scary for Charity” is donating the proceeds to the Dolores Huerta Foundation.
Volunteers who put in at least 2 hours of volunteer time are eligible for a discount ticket of $30.
Volunteers needed at the Bell Tower, located at 1200 Truxtun Ave # 100, Bakersfield, CA 93301
The day before the event on Thursday, October 29th
8 people to put together animatronics at the Bell Tower – Especially looking for mechanically inclined puzzle solvers 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
The day of the event on Friday, October 30th
10 people to decorate the outside of the Bell Tower from 9 am to 1 pm – Especially looking for a few tech savvy and physically strong people.
20 people to decorate the inside of the Bell Tower from 3 pm to 7 pm
2 people for outside security – Mainly looking out for the decorations from 8 pm to 12 am
1 person for front security – Taking care of the decorations 8 pm to 12 am
15 people needed for break down and clean up from 12 am to 2 am
“Scary for Charity” also needs projectors, a dance floor, tables and chairs donated for use that night. Anyone who donates these items will be listed as a sponsor – good publicity for your business.

The 6th Annual “Scary for Charity” Halloween Bash at the Haunted Bell Tower Mansion on October 30th is hosted by The Idea Girl Network. KGET’s Alissa Swartz will emcee this highly anticipated Halloween Bash. This event was developed to benefit local charities in Kern County. This year the event will benefit DHF – The Dolores Huerta Foundation.
Music and entertainment hosted by TIME OF MY LIFE EVENT SERVICES and DARIUS SOUND PRODUCTION. This year’s theme is The Witching Hour. There will be a raffle, silent auction and a costume contest for the best costume in 4 categories – Scariest, Most Original, Best Couple and BEST WITCH! Judges will be local celebrity DJ’s from 5 different radio stations. Come with an appetite! Halloween style Hors D’oeuvres provided until 10 pm.
