Join the Dolores Huerta Foundation in Supporting the California March for Democracy!
On Saturday, May 17th, a group of grassroots activists committed to protecting our democracy, gathered in Los Angeles to begin a 480-mile march over the mountains and across the valleys of California to the capitol in Sacramento. They bring a simple demand to the political leaders of our nation’s largest state: publicly acknowledge the crisis of corruption and take immediate action to end it.
If they arrive in Sacramento after the 37-day march and their demands have not been fully met, they will nonviolently occupy the capitol.
We the people will no longer stand idly by while our government is bought and sold to the highest bidder. We will force our political leaders to come over to the side of the people and push for the end to big money corruption and the beginning of a representative democracy that is dependent upon the people alone.
